COVID-19 Safety Precautions
All visitors to the museum will be required to wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth. Hand sanitising stations will be placed at each entrance and exit and at specific points throughout the building. A new one-way system will be in operation in as many areas as possible, but there remains sections of the site where visitors will have to double-back on themselves - please be mindful of others when doing this.
Whilst our main museum buildings "Castleside" and "The Founders House" will be open, our chapel and the "Wireless Room" will remain closed until further notice. The tea room will also remain closed until further notice.
Visitors will be asked to enter through the museum's normal entrance point - 9 Newnham Road, Bedford, MK40 3NX - but will exit the site through a new exit point in "The Founders House" onto Albany Road. Once a visitor enters "The Founders House" they will not be able to exit to the gardens or "Castleside" without walking around to the museum's primary entrance point on Newnham Road.
If you are visiting the gardens, please bypass the main visitor entrance by taking the alternative path around the building as signposted.
The Panacea Museum is free to all. There is no charge for exhibitions or Tours, however Tours and large groups should be booked in advance. We require 2 weeks advance notice to arrange a guided Tour.
