September 2026 update
We are currently pausing recruitment of volunteering. From the end of September, the museum reduces its opening days and there will be less volunteer slots. We will begin looking for new volunteers again from March 2027.

Volunteers support our work. They add expertise, value and are a friendly first point of contact for our visitors
We rely on our dedicated volunteer team to keep the Museum running smoothly and to support our staff. Our Museum represents part of Bedford’s history and we especially welcome those with a prior interest.
Volunteers have worked with the Museum team since before opening in 2012.
