From the 1920’s to the end of the last century the Panacea Society’s billboard and newspaper advertisements promoting their campaign to persuade the Church of England to ‘Open Joanna Southcott’s Box’ were a familiar site to many people living in England. This exhibition, set throughout the museum and grounds, will feature some of the Society’s most iconic advertisements.
Visitors will have the chance to view the exhibition, explore the museum to discover the story behind the decades long campaign, the mysterious Box of prophecy and why members of the Panacea Society believed it was so important it was opened.
